MOBILE ELEVATED WORK PLATFORM - Energy Safety Canada (OSSA)
The course begins at 8:00 am unless otherwise noted. Participants should arrive 5 to 10 minutes early.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Using mobile elevated work platforms outside of the manufacturer's recommended parameters, or exceeding the limit capacities will result in equipment failure that could have fatal results.
This mobile elevated work platform training will clearly explain the equipment limitations, operating characteristics and inspection requirements necessary to safely operate elevated work platforms.
Applying the procedures learned in the elevated work platform training will eliminate the risk of any accidental injury or property damage associated with elevated work platforms.
Participants are required to wear steel toed boots and dress for the season.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Understand the OH&S regulations as they pertain to elevated work platforms
Recognize elevated work platform hazards
Know the proper procedures for inspecting equipment and the work site
Learn safe operating techniques for elevate work platforms
Understand refuelling and maintenance procedures
DURATION: The duration of the course is 8 hours and includes a mandatory written theory test (English only).
CERTIFICATION STRUCTURE:
This course requires practical operation of an elevated work platform and participants will be required to reach a height between 45 and 65 feet.
