First Aid - Level C; CPR & AED
The course begins at 8:30 am unless otherwise noted. Participants should arrive 5 to 10 minutes early.
OHS Standard First Aid, CPR (Level C) & AED Course Description:
This half day course provides students with the skills to deal with life-threatening emergencies. Adult resuscitation is covered + child/infant resuscitation + two-person rescue CPR, along with the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Other topics include: bleeding/wound care, trauma, medical conditions, burns, eye injuries, environmental injuries, poisoning, mental health emergencies, and bone/joint injuries.
To provide students with the skills they need to deal with emergency injuries/illnesses at home, as a bystander, and in the workplace.
The course length including the theory and practical session is a 4 hr (1/2 Day) course.
This course is in 2 stages, a 4-6 hour online portion that is completed at home and must be done before class. Then a one day classroom skill day.
All participants who successfully complete this program will receive a Red Cross Certificate of Completion which is valid for three years.
