First Aid - Level C; CPR & AED
The course begins at 8:30 am unless otherwise noted. Participants should arrive 5 to 10 minutes early.
OHS Standard First Aid, CPR (Level C) & AED Course Description:
This half day course provides students with the skills to deal with life-threatening emergencies. Adult resuscitation is covered + child/infant resuscitation + two-person rescue CPR, along with the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Other topics include: bleeding/wound care, trauma, medical conditions, burns, eye injuries, environmental injuries, poisoning, mental health emergencies, and bone/joint injuries. COURSE OBJECTIVES:
To provide students with the skills they need to deal with emergency injuries/illnesses at home, as a bystander, and in the workplace. DURATION:
The course length including the theory and practical session is a 4 hr (1/2 Day) course. This course is in 2 stages, a 4-6 hour online portion that is completed at home and must be done before class. Then a one day classroom skill day. CERTIFICATION STRUCTURE:
All participants who successfully complete this program will receive a Red Cross Certificate of Completion which is valid for three years. This First Aid course if provided by our partner site, Haztech Energy Corp. You will receive details about course set up when you register.
