The course begins at 8:00 am unless otherwise noted. Participants should arrive 5 to 10 minutes early.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: At the conclusion of this training, participants will have a basic understanding of the operation of a fire extinguisher, with an emphasis on extinguisher types, sizes and classes.
COURSE OBJECTIVES: This one day program includes theory, tools and knowledge to safely operate a fire extinguisher. The course material is professionally delivered and includes hands-on activities, practical analysis, and focuses on student participation.
To have a basic knowledge of fire chemistry.
Understand the process of fire extinguishments using various extinguishing mediums.
Identify the different types of hand held fire extinguishers and the operation methodology of each.
Demonstrate practical skills with a dry chemical extinguisher and be able to extinguish a liquid hydrocarbon fire.
Demonstrate proper inspection and mantenance of a fire extinguisher.
DURATION: The duration of the course is 4 hours and includes a mandatory written theory test (English only).
CERTIFICATION STRUCTURE:
Extinguish a liquid hydrocarbon fire with a dry chemical extinguisher.
All participants who successfully complete this program will receive a Certificate of Completion.
