Mining is a major benefactor to Saskatchewan’s economy. It is forecasted that within the next 10 years that direct, indirect and induced mining employment in the province will account for 17% of total employment or almost 1 in 5 jobs. Also referred to as GMSA, the General Mine Safety Awareness training provides an overview of mine safety and is a requirement for all contractors who work on a mine site in Saskatchewan.
